Rabbit Diets and Foods

Rabbits need to eat a well balanced diet to prevent problems occuring, particularly with their teeth. Feed a well balanced diet with plenty of green stuff and hay. Rabbits should also have time out in the garden so that they can benefit from being outside in the sunshine and foraging for fresh food. If your rabbit is picky with food and just eats the bits he or she likes and leaves the rest it is possible that he or she is missing valuable ingredients. If this is relevant to your rabbit it may be best to feed a pelleted food so that your rabbit will not miss out on vital nutrients.

Dogs usually have a hearty appetite but some may be quite choosy about what they will eat. It is best to choose a good quality diet right from the start. If your pet does not eat at one meal time don't be tempted to change the food- many dogs will happily take a rest from eating at one meal and then make up for it later! If you do need to introduce a new food do it slowly- adding a small amount to the usual diet initially, and gradually increasing the amounts over several days until the new food is being well accepted.
